Current Vacancy - Litigation & Family Law Solicitor

The Position

We have an established litigation department dealing with a variety of litigation procedures with a sharp focus on property and landlord and tenant disputes ranging from HMO licences, disrepair, deposit disputes, eviction, possession and harassment cases. We are looking for the right candidate that will meet the following requirements:

Experience in practicing Litigation and Landlord & Tenant Law as a Solicitor

Experience with litigious contract disputes

Knowledge and Experience with Debt Recovery

Knowledge and Experience with Bailiffs and Enforcement

Must have an understanding of County Courts and High Court Proceedings

Detailed knowledge of Landlord & Tenant Law and commercial property disputes

Knowledge and experience with Interim Injunctions

Knowledge and experience with handling cases in the Small Claims, Multi-Track and Fast Track Claims

Knowledge and experience with drafting claims, defence and bundle preparations and drafting Particulars of Claim

Experience with leasehold/freehold disputes

Detailed knowledge of Landlord & Tenant Law and property disputes

Knowledge of Landlord & Tenant Act 1985 and the Housing Act 2004

Housing disrepairs, Deposit disputes, Possession proceedings

Knowledge and experience with reviewing and drafting Tenancy Agreements

Knowledge of housing licenses, such as HMO licenses and selective licenses

Experience of the Civil Procedure Rules and County Court cases

In addition, we are searching for candidates with family law experience with a proven track record of handling a diverse number of family-law related cases.

Family Law:

Experience with Family Law proceedings and a proven track record of acting for clients in the following areas:

Separation Agreements

Non-Molestation Orders

Occupation Orders

Divorce and Dissolution of Civil Partnerships

Financial Remedy

Cohabitation Agreements

Matters pertaining to children, including access and financial provision

The ideal candidate will be capable of handling a caseload of civil litigation, property disputes and family disputes in accordance with the protocols and CPR. The candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge and application on varied cases, receive and respond to written submissions, court documents and letters, negotiate settlements and comply with court deadlines. Applicants with experience in both litigation and family law are encouraged to apply.

Due to further recent growth and expansion both nationally and across the globe, the firm is now seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor with keen business acumen to manage a growing caseload and build a client base. We continue to work flexibly, both remotely from home and when required from either of our office in Central London.

Core requirements:

Detailed knowledge of Litigation - [All types of however excluding personal injury]

Detailed knowledge of Family Law proceedings

Advocacy and experience with CPR rules, County Court and Family Court work is beneficial

You will have demonstrable achieved billing targets in previous position(s)

You will be highly motivated, resourceful self-starter with a positive can-do manner

You will be a good workload planner who can manage time vs tasks

Experience/qualifications:

Qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales through an accredited law school

Must be admitted to practice in England and Wales

It is essential you possess a minimum NQ - 2 years and above PQE or the equivalent

Previous experience of managing a small team of paralegals and assistants preferred

Responsibilities:

Manage your own caseload, converting new client enquiries and meeting billing targets

Managing your own support staff and paralegals and providing feedback and direction where appropriate

Ensure smooth running of your caseload and practice good litigation calendar administration

Developing business and generating new clients

Working cohesively and liaising with accounts departments and management daily

We are looking for a NQ - 2 years and above PQE qualified solicitor to join our firm who is prepared to represent our Litigation and Residential Landlord and Tenant department whilst expanding into other litigious areas of law.
