Dr Harry Hagopian joined OTS Solicitors in 2017 as a Consultant Public International Lawyer. He holds a Doctorate in Public International Law and an LL.M in Alternative Dispute (Conflict) Resolution. Over the past two decades, and more regionally since 2010, he has been a political advisor on the Middle East North Africa region. He has also worked with ecumenical movements and church-related organisations, and has been involved with humanitarian and refugee projects in Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine since 1990. Harry’s academic works are published internationally. As an ethnic Armenian, he has written numerous reflections on the Armenian genocide. He has also written treatises on Women’s Rights in Islam and on Blasphemy/Apostasy legal cases under Common Law & Sharia principles. Recently, he published a book on The Armenian Church in the Holy Land. Moreover, Harry has written extensively on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict where he served as second-track negotiator, as well as on Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Libya, Yemen and the GCC. He was one of the Al-Jazeera ‘Presenters’ Friends’ and commentators on the Arab uprisings as well as posting his own blogs on Huffington Post (UK) and Ekklesia think tank let alone having a monthly MENA programme on Premier Radio. Since June 2016, he has contributed a number of analytical pieces or reflections on Brexit in terms of Article 50, Immigration & EU Nationals in the UK as well as on the way forward in EU-UK negotiations. Dr Hagopian speaks several languages, including Arabic. He is a keen classical pianist.
