In order to make up the total 10 years of residency in the UK for the Indefinite Leave to Remain, does an entry under a visitor visa count as a lawful entry to the UK for this purpose and the period of stay under the visit visa is counted towards the 10 years of continuous stay target?

Public Answer:

Thank you for your enquiry.

Your visit visa may count towards your leave in the UK however, this will depend on how long you were absent from the UK.  We would need to seek further instructions from you to understand whether you qualify for Indefinite Leave to Remain based on your long residence.

Our Immigration solicitors will contact you shortly.
