Hi, my baby’s dad isn’t on the birth certificate and he’s only just started seeing her (she’s 9 weeks old). What rights does he have? He didn’t at first wanted to see her and refused to go on the birth certificate. He’s having 1 hour a week visitation that is supervised as I don’t trust him as he has threatened to take her when she was born. I want to get a residency order in place. How would I go about doing this and would I be able to get one? I would also like to add he has refused to pay for her as well.

From the information provided, it would seem that the father does not hold parental responsibility at the moment however, he can apply to the court for his name to be placed on the birth certificate thereby acquiring parental responsibility. In respect of contact, there is the option of attending mediation to try and resolve any contact issues or there is also the option of applying to court for a Child Arrangements Order to resolve any disputes.
