Hi,PLEASE ONLY PROCESS MY QUESTIONS ONLY IF THIS SERVICE IS FREE AS I DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR ENQUIRY.My nationality is Portuguese. I studied in UK in July 1991, then I worked and travelled in UK until year July 2001. I have a residen permit in year 1999 and it was expired in year 2004. Now I consider to return to UK, can I apply for permanent residency so that I can be sure that I can retire in UK?

To apply for a permanent residence Card you must prove that you have exercised your Treaty rights for five years continuously. permanent residence status may be lost if you leave the UK for two or more years.
