Key Responsibilities
Manage a Diverse Caseload:
Handle a full range of personal and business immigration matters from start to finish. This includes entry clearance applications, further leave to remain (FLR), indefinite leave to remain (ILR), nationality and naturalisation applications, sponsorship licences, skilled worker visas, and global mobility routes. You will also handle complex matters such as appeals, administrative reviews, bail applications, deportation cases, and judicial review proceedings.
Additional Experience (Desirable):
Experience in family law matters (such as divorce, child care proceedings, domestic violence injunctions, and financial settlements) would be advantageous but is not essential for the role.
Autonomous Case Handling:
Take responsibility for your own caseload, ensuring effective file management, meeting billing targets, and maintaining high standards of client service. You will advise clients, prepare and submit applications, draft legal representations, and proactively progress matters to successful outcomes.
Supervision & Team Leadership:
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, including paralegals and assistants. You will oversee their work, support their development, and ensure quality control across matters.
Client Care & Business Development:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, converting new enquiries into instructions and contributing to the growth of the department. Provide clear, practical legal advice and regular updates while maintaining exceptional client care standards.
Compliance & Knowledge Development:
Stay up-to-date with developments in UK immigration law and Home Office policy. Ensure all work complies with SRA regulations and internal procedures.
Requirements
Qualified Solicitor / CILEX (England & Wales):
Must be admitted to practice in England and Wales with a valid practising certificate. Candidates should have approximately 3+ years PQE (or equivalent experience) in immigration law.
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of UK immigration law, including both personal and business immigration routes. Experience handling applications, appeals, and complex matters such as judicial review and tribunal advocacy is highly desirable.
Case Management Skills:
Ability to manage your own caseload with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and billing targets.
Leadership and Mentoring:
Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff such as paralegals and legal assistants is highly desirable.
Client-Focused Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients.
Commercial Awareness & Initiative:
Proven ability to generate new business, develop client relationships, and contribute to the firm’s growth.
Personal Attributes:
Highly motivated, professional, and proactive with strong attention to detail. A confident team player with leadership qualities, excellent time management, and a “can-do” approach.
IT Proficiency:
Comfortable using case management systems and remote-working technology.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a Diverse Caseload: Handle a full range of residential landlord and tenant disputes from start to finish. Typical cases include possession proceedings and eviction claims (e.g. Section 8/21 notices), unlawful eviction and tenant protection claims, rent arrears recovery, housing disrepair, and tenancy deposit disputes. You will advise and represent both landlords and tenants, ensuring their rights are protected and obligations met.
- Additional Experience (Desirable): Some experience in employment law or other dispute resolution matters would be advantageous, particularly in advisory and contentious / non-contentious employment issues, but is not essential for the role.
- Autonomous Case Handling: Take responsibility for your own caseload, providing sound legal advice. You will negotiate settlements, draft and review legal documents, and proactively drive cases toward successful resolutions while maintaining the highest professional standards.
- Supervision & Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members. You will supervise their work, foster their development, and ensure quality control on matters you oversee.
- Client Care & Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with our clients, from private individuals to property managers and corporate landlords. Offer exemplary client care with regular updates and clear, pragmatic advice.
- Compliance & Knowledge Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in housing law and landlord & tenant legislation. Ensure all activities comply with SRA standards and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales): Must hold current SRA qualification and practising certificate. Candidates should have proven post-qualification experience in landlord & tenant law or property litigation (approximately 3+ years PQE preferred). Experience in employment law is also desirable, particularly in advisory and dispute-related matters.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation and litigation procedure. Experience handling cases involving possession claims, evictions, lease or tenancy breaches, rent arrears, disrepair, and related housing disputes. It would be desirable to display the ability to advise on employment law issues such as unfair dismissal, redundancy, and workplace disputes.
- Case Management Skills: Ability to manage your own caseload with minimal supervision, demonstrating excellent organizational skills and sound judgment.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff is highly desirable.
