Hi there, In October I will have 1 year since Settled Status, and I fulfill all requirements to apply for British Citizenship, except the fact that I will have been 150 days out of the country, 100 of which are due to having left during lockdown to shelter with my family in another country. Do you know if there is an exemption for this as the COVID crisis is an outstanding circumstance, and if not, is there any indication as to when we will find out whether there is an exemption around this? Is there any other way I can find out in the next month?

Thank you for your enquiry.
This is for obvious reasons an untested point. The Home Office has discretion to waive the permitted absences requirement we would need to take your instructions on when the circumstances arose and what steps you took
