Will a criminal record affect my immigration application

Hi. I am a US citizen and have a job offer from an approved employer. I would be applying for the skilled worker visa. None of my work falls under the categories that require a criminal record certificate. Is criminal history addressed on the initial application or is it not considered at all? Thank you.

You will usually have to disclose any convictions on your application irrespective of whether the specific job role requires a check. The impact on your application will depend on the nature of and time passed since the offence.
