Dear Ots Team, My Question Re Allowed Absences Under The Pre Settlement Scheme In Order To Be

  • Posted on

Dear OTS team, my question is re allowed absences under the pre-settlement scheme in order to be eligible for settled status:I first entered the UK on 13 September 2019. I was outside of the UK from 18 December 2019 to 29 December 2019 (10 days). I then was abroad again from 14 March 2020 onwards and returned to the UK on 21 August 2020 only (159 days of absence). I stayed in the UK until 31 August 2020 and have since been abroad again. I will return on 18 August 2021 (one-off less than 12-month absence with acceptable excuse).Should I reapply for pre-settled status starting 21 August 2020 in order to be eligible for settled status later? Is there anything in particular that I need to pay attention to re absences before or after the 12-month one-off absence period? Many thanks!
