Do I have to wait 12 months with ILR before applying for citezenship?

For EEA nationals that have ILR under the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS): - they can show that they have been free from immigration time restrictions for 12 months before applying using a combination of current EUSS, leave and permanent residence they previously held under the EEA Regulations. Does this mean that I need to have my ILR for 12 months before I apply for citizenship? What if I qualified for ILR previously but there was a delay with the application to officially get the Settled-status?

Thank you for your enquiry.

Usually, you would need to hold Settled Status or Indefinite Leave to Remain for at least 12 months from the date of issue. There are different rules for those married to a British Citizen.  For more information, please call 02039599123 or click here
