Tier 2 applicants must score at least 70 points on the Tier 2 visa points test, including ten points each for maintenance funds and English language proficiency, though applicants whose Tier 2 sponsor can guarantee their maintenance with the UK Home Office gain ten points automatically. Only ‘A rated’ sponsors have this option. You may also incur 50 points if your position on the Shortage Occupation List.
