Public Answer

Thank you for your question. There are visa options you can look at; however, they are very competitive and you would need expert advice to prepare an application.

The first is a Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) Visa. This route for exceptionally talented individuals in the fields of science, humanities, engineering, the arts and digital technology. If you qualify, the route allows you to work and change employers, or to be self-employed, without the need for further authorisation or to be sponsored for Employment in a specific post. You will need to apply to Arts Council England for endorsement that you are exceptionally talented or show exceptional promise in your chosen field.

The other option to consider is getting an employer who holds a Sponsor Licence to sponsor you for a Tier 2 (General) Visa. Unless your job is on the Shortage Occupation List, your prospective employer will have to advertise the position first. Although you would not be able to freelance initially, you may be able to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain after five years, and if you were successful in obtaining it you could work in the UK without restriction.
