Immigration News: Tech Nation Update on UK Global Talent Visa Endorsement Applications

  • Posted on

Our immigration solicitors previously flagged up that the specialist endorsing body Tech Nation would be ceasing to endorse global talent visa applicants with effect from 31 March 2023.

We were all waiting for news of the replacement endorsing body in the hope that the business visa for entrepreneurs would not be left in limbo at a time when the UK has frequently said that it wants to attract the brightest and the best to the UK shores. We now have some news.

Global talent visa endorsements to continue

Until a short while ago business immigration solicitors did not know who would replace Tech Nation as the endorsing body for the global talent visa when Tech Nation closed on 31 March 2023. We still don’t but at least we now know that the visa is not being left in limbo until a replacement endorsing body is identified and approved.

The good news update is that until a replacement endorsing body is identified Tech Nation will continue to provide an endorsement service for global talent visa applicants. It is understood that this arrangement will remain in place until an alternative body is recruited and in place.

Business immigration lawyers are welcoming the news as they were all rather sceptical that a new endorsing body with the skills and experience required could be found and put in position by 31 March 2023 and were concerned about the hiatus for global talent visa applicants who were keen to progress their business and work plans in the UK.

Tech Nation has said it will continue to accept applications for the foreseeable future and until a new tech endorsing body is put in place.

There is some talk that Tech Nation may hand over the reins to the Founders Forum Group but that is by no means certain. The benefit of the news to business visa applicants looking to secure a global talent visa is that they don’t need to delay their application or look at alternative business or work visa options.

How can the business immigration lawyers at OTS Solicitors help entrepreneurs?

If you are planning on applying for a global talent visa then the business immigration solicitors recommend that you get expert immigration advice to support you through the 2 stage application process of endorsement by Tech Nation followed by the Home Office application.

We can also look at alternative business visa options such as the innovator founder visa that replaces the innovator visa and the start-up visa.

If you are looking to settle in the UK as an entrepreneur then we can advise you on the business visa options that could lead to an accelerated indefinite leave to remain application.

Once your entrepreneurial business is set up and running the likelihood is that you will want to employ specialist overseas-based workers in your new venture. Our Sponsorship Licence lawyers can help you secure your first sponsor licence from the Home Office so you can sponsor skilled workers on skilled worker visas. We can also guide you through how to conduct right-to-work checks on all your employees and manage your sponsor licence for you.
